The Baines Group is a management vehicle for various property and reclamation activities that the Directors Ken and Sarah Baines are involved in.
ABOUT US
Ken Baines was a Chartered Quantity Surveyor operating in the Commercial and High End Residential Sector in London and throughout the UK. Ken retired from his surveying career in 2019 choosing to focus on the family property portfolio and reclaim. With over 30 years construction experience Ken’s knowledge encompasses diverse projects and architectural styles from multimillion high-end new builds to Grade 1 listed country houses. Ken has also over this period developed a passion for reclaiming materials and integrating these into office and residential environments.
Sarah Baines was an Occupational Therapist working within the community for 24 years. In 2018 Sarah retired from this demanding / challenging environment to support the growing family portfolio. Sarah has managed in her new role to maintain budgets for their ongoing projects, making sure the specification works within the budget, despite Ken’s best efforts to exceed them!
The following pages provide details of some of the properties that Ken, Sarah and their children Ollie and Alice own and actively manage. Also the recent move into sourcing and selling reclaimed items with the aim to reclaim, relove and rehome.

The Old Gasworks is available as a serviced office where individuals, special interest groups and professional organisations can hold meetings, lectures and exhibitions. The Old Gasworks has been used as a photo shoot and video shoot facility.
BUTLEY MILL
WOODBRIDGE | SUFFOLK
A former Provender Mill converted in 2006 to a holiday rental. Purchased in 2018, Ken and Sarah have embarked on a significant refurbishment and remodelling programme of works to create a luxury self catering holiday accommodation for up to 12 people.

A separate self contained office adjacent to The Old Gasworks. This contemporary take on a traditional shepherds hut provides a unique and inspiring office space.
GASWORKS RECLAIM
Based from The Old Gasworks in Leigh on Sea, Essex and selling at the-barn.co in Friday Street Suffolk, Gasworks reclaim was set up for Ken and Sarah to reclaim, relove and rehome interesting architectural salvage and building materials. Ken and Sarah have always had an interest in buildings and also a passion to reuse, recycle and reclaim. Initially this was evident in the homes that Ken and Sarah had purchased and restored.
